Port 25/SMTP Blocking
Some Internet Service Providers block outgoing E-mails to reduce SPAM generated from their networks. This is the default port used by an E-mail client to connect an E-mail server. This is also the default port to send E-mail. If your ISP blocks Port 25 (Outgoing E-mail) you must use their SMTP Rules. Check the list below to see if your ISP is blocking Port 25.
AOL
Members of America Online will not be able to connect to 3rd party mail servers using port 25. If your E-mail client currently connects to your mail servers on port 25 and you are using AOL as your Internet connection this will affect you. If your SMTP server settings are set up to use port 25, AOL recommends changing them to use port 587.
Comcast
Members of Comcast must use smtp.comcast.net as their outgoing mail server and Do Not have "outgoing server requires authentication" checked in Microsoft Outlook.
